WHES 1488kW/2980kWh Utility Energy Storage System PA-3.0EU is a containerised battery storage solution for large-scale energy, infrastructure and renewable power projects. It stores electricity in a high-voltage LFP battery system and supplies it back to the grid according to project and energy management requirements.

Configuration IA-1488kW/2980kWh-DA10 provides 1488kW rated AC output power. The commercial product designation specifies 2980kWh, while the technical datasheet lists an exact system capacity of 2981kWh.

PA-3.0EU is suitable for large solar and wind power plants, load shifting, peak shaving and grid support applications. Its final operating strategy, transformer connection, protection concept and energy management system must be defined during project design.

The system uses LFP, also known as LiFePO4, battery cells rated at 3.2V and 280Ah. Its string architecture enables separate control of individual battery branches, limits the effect of a single-point failure and helps prevent state-of-charge imbalance between battery clusters.

Eight PCS units, each rated at 186kW, provide a combined AC output of 1488kW. Maximum charging power is 1456kW, while maximum discharging power reaches 1528kW. The system uses a 3W+PE connection with a rated AC voltage of 690V.

Liquid cooling is used for the battery system, while the PCS units use intelligent air cooling. PA-3.0EU can maintain full performance at ambient temperatures up to 50°C, supporting operation in demanding outdoor and utility-scale environments.

The factory pre-assembled All In One container design reduces on-site wiring, installation time and the risk of connection errors. Automatic coolant refilling and replacement further simplify maintenance of the thermal management system.

Its safety design includes IP67 protection for the batteries, IP65 protection for the PCS and multi-level active and passive fire protection. Safety equipment includes smoke, heat and flammable gas detection, an audible alarm, aerosol and water-based fire suppression and a pressure relief panel.
